COBE Cardiovascular, Inc. offers equipment training and perioperative blood collection and administration seminars that are designed to assist the clinician in the safe and effective operation of the BRAT 2, Dideco Electa Essential and Compact Advanced Blood Processing Systems and the Angel Whole Blood Processing System.
Our Clinical Education Specialists can consult with clinicians in your institution regarding such issues as establishing your perioperative blood management program, writing policies and procedures, and establishing and implementing quality control and utilization review procedures by providing the most recent guidelines and standards from the American Association of Blood Banks.
COBE Cardiovascular's team of Clinical Education Specialists and Clinical Consultants are health-care professionals from the areas of operating room/critical care nursing, blood banking, perfusion and respiratory care and have many years experience in their field. Additionally, each Clinical Education Specialist/Consultant has at least seven years experience in the area of perioperative autologous blood collection and administration.
We offer an equipment inservice at installation of our devices which includes detailed instruction in the operation of the COBE Cardiovascular and Dideco Systems. After placement of the equipment, we offer a variety of fee based training opportunities including equipment inservices and educational seminars.
Additional resources include:
- An equipment inservice videotape for the BRAT 2 System and the Dideco Electa Essential System (available through the Clinical Education Department)
- Quick reference guides for equipment operation (available through the Clinical Education Department)
- Autotransfusion references (available through the Clinical Education Department)
- The BRAT 2 Computer Simulator (available through Customer Service). This interactive software program allows the clinician to "operate" the BRAT 2 on any Windows based PC. The clinician has the opportunity to perform the same functions on the computer simulator as on the BRAT 2 System and a self-instructional program takes the clinician through a series of exercises designed to assist in device training.
- The access number for COBE Cardiovasculars' Autotransfusion "Hot Line" for emergency clinical support
- User Group Meetings and Refresher Seminars in perioperative autologous blood collection and administration topics
COBE Cardiovascular is committed to providing quality educational programs and clinical support. COBE Cardiovascular is proud to be involved in the training of clinicians who have such an active role in improving patient care and the desire to diminish the patient's exposure to allogeneic blood products through the use of autologous blood.
